Introducing e-PayDay®

e-PayDay® is a comprehensive, simple to use, yet sophisticated personal computer based payroll system, incorporating procedures and functions normally contained in more expensive Payrolls.

Why do I need a Computerised Payroll?

A manual payroll system normally consists of a book which is satisfactory ONLY for the recording and entry of very basic payroll information. The employer however, is still required to manually calculate tax, medicare variation adjustments, superannuation guarantee levy and many other legislative and industrial requirements.

A manual system does not provide for detailed payroll reporting. The standard of information required to be maintained for employees under the various award, industrial and taxation requirements complicates a manual system.

The payroll information required to be maintained has increased considerably over the past years and is continually changing. This has also increased the time taken to process a payroll. You must consider the time and costs involved in preparation and processing of your manual payroll compared with an automatic in-house computerised system. There are many cases where employers who normally allocated a morning to process their manual pays, have completed an e-PayDay® payrun in less than 15 minutes. Complete in-house control eliminates the hassles associated with manual or outside payroll processing.

What is e-PayDay®?

Australian Made®e-PayDay® is designed and produced ENTIRELY in Australia to meet Australian payroll requirements. e-PayDay® incorporates procedures and functions normally contained in more expensive payroll programs. With the increase in government legislative and industrial requirements, businesses require a payroll which is up-to-date, yet simple to use, comprehensive, cost effective, with readily available support and prompt updates.

e-PayDay® offers a flexible range of Awards and Pay Types for businesses and companies with one to hundreds of employees. The product line has been available nationally since 1987, with over ONE MILLION employees currently being paid using e-PayDay®. It is being used by many industries such as security, real estate, tourism, farming, engineering, clubs, service stations, medical, construction, hardware, hotels, employment agencies, hospitality, and many other types of businesses.

What Operating System do I need?

e-PayDay® is designed to run on Windows® 98/ME/NT/2000/XP and works with 32 Bit versions of Microsoft Vista and Windows 7.

To use e-PayDay® with Apple® MAC OSX, a Virtual PC program such as VMware Fusion is required.

Which Payroll Program do I need?

You should assess your needs based on the following points:

  1. Number of Employees - Estimate the number of permanent and casual employees for a full employment year.

  2. Subsidiary or Associated Companies - do you require a second trading entity e.g. another company or registered trading name?

To meet your needs the e-PayDay® product line has five levels. These levels differ mainly on the number of active employees you can can have on the system at any one time. e-PayDay FREEPAY® for example allows up to 5 active employees, but at the same time, you can have an unlimited number of terminated employees.

Can I change to another product in the e-PayDay® product line and how much does it cost?

Yes, because all versions are 100% file compatible you may change from either e-PayDay® SC to e-PayDay® MC, or e-PayDay® UC, at any time throughout the financial year with no need to re-key any data.

The changeover cost is the price difference between what you paid for you current product and the new product price.

What happens when payroll legislation or tax changes occur during the year?

Legislative, industrial and taxation changes are continually monitored, and when e-PayDay Pty Ltd becomes aware of changes, a new version (upgrade) of e-PayDay® is prepared. A user may amend the tax co-efficients supplied with e-PayDay® without referral to, or updates from e-PayDay® except for e-PayDay FREEPAY® which requires the purchase of an Upgrade.

If the Australian Taxation Office changes the tax formulae then all registered users are notified of the availability of a new version. At e-PayDay's discretion, user suggestions which are constructive and will enhance operation of the program may also be included in new versions.  e-PayDay Pty Ltd is continually improving the design and features of e-PayDay®.

What's the difference between an update and an upgrade?

All updates are free for registered users of e-PayDay® e.g. Version 19.00 to V19.01, V19.02, V19.10 etc. They include issue fixes and small patches for the program. Updates are usually issued after a major version change (Upgrade e.g. Version 19 to Version 20). Upgrades must be purchased except for existing support contract holders in which case the Upgrade is supplied at no charge.

Do I have to upgrade?

Only if the upgrade is as a result of legislative, industrial or tax formulae changes. In these cases you must upgrade to meet you legal obligations as penalties now apply if the employer does not comply with industrial and legislative requirements.
